KV Company: Kadária
a séance with the spirit of regime change

The KV Company presents: KADÁRIA
„Kádár Jani bácsi rendes ember volt, csak hát azok a kivégzések ne lettek volna”
KADÁRIA is a contemporary premiere and a personal, deeply subjective evocation of the Kádár era, with plenty of humour, irony, music and dance. Its text draws on period documents, many little-known interviews and public speeches, including Kádár’s iconic final speech. Alongside Kádár, a key role is given to Géza Hofi, a giant of Hungarian political cabaret. The production imagines a meeting between János Kádár and Géza Hofi and Hungary in 2026.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the 1956 Revolution; KADÁRIA is therefore also the creators’ tribute to the memory of 1956.
