A Több De Minimum Ezeréves Fa igazságot szolgáltat az erdő fáinak: az őket bántalmazó vasszívű Wilhelmet pillangóvá változtatja, amíg az meg nem válto¬zik, s három jó cselekedetet végre nem hajt. Ám a hátbor¬zongató Jégbanyával szemben, aki megfagyaszt mindenkit, akihez csak hozzáér, ő is tehetetlen. Így hát Wilhelm testvé¬rére, az ábrándos Jakobra bízza az erdő megmentését, segít¬ségül melléadja a Rókát, akinek az esze mindenkinél csava¬rosabb és a szélsebes lábú Nyulat. Ők hárman elindulnak a Jégbanya ellen, de előbb még le kell győzniük a Hétfejű Sárkányt, aki elrabolta a szépséges királylányt, Százcsillagfürtöt, s le kell leplezniük az ármányos Főmarsallt, aki magáénak akarja tudni a dicsőséget meg persze a fele királyságot és a királylány kezét…

Once upon a time there were two brothers. They were called Wilhelm and Jakob. On fine day they go to the forest in order to chop some wood. Jakob is an eternal daydeamer and regards every creature as a friend,  even the trees. In contrast, Wilhelm is very practical, almost cold hearted. He decides to cut down a huge, old tree which Jacob does not want him to do, but he can not talk him out of it. Wilhelm strikes the tree with his hatchet and does not hear that the tree is moaning, he even almost strikes a butterfly nearly killing it. At last Jacob stops Wilhelm from hitting the tree, but it is too late as the tree magically transforms Wilhelm into a butterfly. Only by doing three good deeds Wilhelm can turn back into human form. Then the huge, old tree gives Jakob two new brothers for saving him: the clever fox and the fast-footed rabbit, who has a stuttering problem, but only when he is not singing. Jacob must save his new brothers from the threat of danger, an ice-witch, who freezes everything and everyone, that she touches. During the brothers wanderings they arrive at a town that is shrouded in black. It turns out that there is a seven headed dragon that has abducted the beautiful princess. The king promisses half of his kingdom and the hand of his daughter to the man that rescues her. Jakob and his brothers succeed in defeating the dragon with the help of a magic sword and rescue the princess. It turns out that the princess has a name which is as beautiful as the starry sky. But there was an evil marshall who was hiding during the fight, and wanted to have the princess and the kingdom all for himself. Therefore while Jakob is asleep, he cuts off his head and abducts the princess.

-intermission-

Wilhelm carries out his first good deed by waking up the sleeping fox and rabbit, so they can put Jakob’s head back onto his body. However they mistakingly put the head of the dragon onto the body, so they have to cut it off again so Jakob can get back his own head. Meanwhile the king almost gives his daughter to the marshall, but Wilhelm, who is still a butterfly, arrives just in time and does not allow the marshal to take the hand of the princess. However Jakob manages to prove that the marshall is lying, because with a common sword it is impossible to cut the dragon’s head in two. When the lovers are about to unite, the ice-witch appears in the palace and freezes Jakob with her icy breath. Wilhelm is keeping vigil again: he distracts the attention of the ice-witch, who is about to cuddle the princess with her icy body in order to warm herself up. Fighting together they gang up on the horrible woman, at the exact moment when her icy hands almost touch the princess. At last Wilhelm is able to turn back into a human being. The king as a reward divides his kingdom between the two brothers and Jakob can finally marry the princess. Moreover the rabbit is cured of his stuttering problem, so he can say: “All’s well, that ends well.”

Los dos hermanos, Guillermo y Jacobo, se marcharon un dia al bosque para cortar leńa. Jacobo un eterno sońador, considera todas las criaturas, hasta los árboles como amigos. Guillermo es de una naturelaza mas fria. El decide aunque Jacobo se opone a ello de cortar un gran viejo árbol milenario. Guillermo no se da cuenta que cuando mete su hacha al tronco, el árbol gime y llora y que en su faena inggrata, casi mata una mariposa también. Por fin Jacobo consigue a parar a Guillermo pero ya es demasiado tarde y el árbol transforma a Guillermo en una mariposa. Solo haciendo tres obras buenas podrá Guillermo volver ser persona. Luego, el viejo árbol dá a Jacobo dos nuevos hermanos para ayudarlo de las dificultades y peligros de la vida: al astuto zorro y al venoz conejo. Pero este segundo tiene un problema: balbucea, excepto cuando canta. Jacobo tiene que salvar sus nuevos hermanos de los peligros. La bruja helada, quién solo tocando, congela todo y a todos. En sus andanzasde los hermanos encuentran una ciudad envuelta en negro. Resulta, que allá vive el dragón de siete cabezas, quién se llévo y guarda la bella princesa. El rey prometa la mitad de su reinado y la mano de la princesa al hombre quién se la salva. Jacobo y su hermano logra de vencer con la ayuda de una espada mágica al dragon, cortandole las cabezas y así salvar la princesa. Resulta, que el nombre de la princesa es tan bello como el cielo con estrellas. Pero un mariscal malvado, quién quería la princesa y el reinado para el mismo, a su vez corta la cabeza de Jacobo durante su sueńo y se lleva la princesa!

Guillermo hace su primer acto bondadoso despertando al zorro y la liebre, quienes reponen la cabeza de Jacobo. Sinembargo, por error, cosen una de las cabezas del dragón sobre el cuerpo de Jacobo. Así que tienen que cortar de nuevo la cabeza mala. Entretiempo el rey casi dá la mano de su hija al mariscal pero Guillermo, quíen sigue de ser una mariposa, llega justo a tiempo evitando que el mariscalse puede llevar la princesa, ya que Jacobo comprueba que el mariscal esta mintiendo por haber dicho che fue el quién mato el dragón. Jacobo demuestra, que con una espada corriente no se puede cortar cabezas de dragones. Pero quando los enamorados quieren reunirse, vuelve la Bruja de Bielo y con su aliento congela a Jacobo. Pero Guillermo vigila. El distrae la atención de la bruja queriendoabrazar con su cuerpo gelido la princesa calentandose ella misma. Luchando juntos logran en el último momento evitar que la bruja, con sus manos de hielo, toqué la princesa. Así por fin, Guillermo haber cumplido los tres actos buenos vuelve en su cuerpo humano. El Rey, muy contento, divide su reynado en dos, dandole la mitad a cada uno de los hermanos y Jacobo puede casarse con la princesa. Hasta que el conejo esta curado de su tartamudez y puede proclamar: “Todo es bién lo que termina bién.”
